Snowy Monaro Regional Council (SMRC) will undertake additional maintenance works at the Werralong Road causeway from Monday May 12 to Wednesday May 14, 2025, weather permitting.

This essential maintenance will be concentrated on the causeway itself and the 10 metre section either side of the crossing. The removal of silt and sediment will lower the water level at the causeway and aims improve water flow in Werralong Creek.
A spokesperson for SMRC said, “The works commencing on Monday May 12 will build on repairs to the junction of the causeway and road surface completed earlier in the year, following a condition assessment undertaken by Council in January 2025.”
“Once complete, driving conditions and road access will be further improved. Council appreciates the community’s patience while these works are underway.”
Council advises drivers to be alert for workers on foot and plant machinery operating on-site. Drive to the conditions and follow the direction of roadworks signage and traffic control staff.
