This season saw the Stallions successfully overcome the fourth-placed Narooma Devils in the initial finals round, before taking it to the Eden Tigers, a team that finished third on the ladder after the regular season, highlighting the progress made under the leadership of coach Jason Kelly.

Captain James Cahill reflected on the team’s achievements, noting the formation of a solid and united group. “Making finals this year was a good highlight for us; we created a tight-knit group this year, which I think has been lacking in previous years. It was pleasing to see that build and hopefully that’s something we can continue in coming years,” Cahill stated.

Captain Cahill also expressed gratitude to key individuals who contributed outstanding commitment to the team’s journey. Special thanks were extended to Tammy Byrne, Matthew Hassall, Nathan Smith, and coach Jason Kelly for their unwavering support. Additionally, appreciation was directed toward the committee members, including James and Taylor Boller, Ash and Darren Steinke, Todd and Morgan Williams, and David Brison, whose efforts are integral to the club’s operations.

The Stallions’ showdown against Eden was fiercely contested, with both teams playing finals style football on a challenging, muddy field. Reflecting on the match, Cahill commented, “I felt like we were very close but just couldn’t ice certain parts of the games, and the Tigers were too good in the end.”

The Stallions, buoyed by this season’s achievements and the strong sense of camaraderie, are already looking forward to building on their success in the coming years with hopes of returning to the finals stronger than ever.
