In a gripping display of rugby league action, the Cooma Stallions hosted the Merimbula Pambula Bulldogs in round 3 of the Group 16 Rugby League competition, resulting in a nail-biting finish at the Cooma Showgrounds. James Cahill, Co-Captain of the Stallions’ first grade side, reflected on the 24-18 loss, noting, “It was a tight game right the way through, and it was 18 all with five minutes to go. Merimbula scored with three minutes to go… it was a tough result for us.”

“The Bulldogs were strong, we had a few boys out this round, but the Dogs played well, and with a lot of confidence, but we showed we can match it with the best.” Cahill highlighted the impressive performances of Brock Halls, Brock Freeburn, Ryan Castle, and Riley Casey, all of whom earned player points, alongside Richard Bensley, who made significant contributions off the bench.

Despite the loss, Cahill expressed optimism, stating, “We improved so much from last game against Bombala, even with a few new faces this round. We are only gonna get better so long as we keep turning up to training and building on what we have started.”
